Tea Cup Card

Are you ready for this card? It started out as a single tea cup but then I got a little carried away............ended up making a regular card - single layer......there's twist: netting (tulle) used inside the top note to soften the solid Rose Red color. This reminds me of the "old" vintage tea cups. I wished I had some wide silk Ivory ribbon to tie a bow on the handle.............oh well..........you get the idea................

Here's a closer look at the front. The adhesive pearls are the perfect embellishment. The message is popped with dimensionals. Love the new Perfect Punches stamp set which fits the oval scallop punch perfectly. The entire front of the tea cup is embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Folder. Note: stamp the images BEFORE putting through the embossing folder...........

See the tea cup underneath - ready for a handwritten message (or a tea bag)

Back of card:

Here's a close-up of the netting (tulle) to soften the Rose Red color.

If you have this Sizzix tea cup die, fold the paper in half and position it slightly below the tea cup opening. Then cut off the bottom extension (see pink arrow). Stamp the images on the tea cup, then use Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder only for the front.

Use the Perfect Punch "Thanks" message: stamping one in Rose Red, punch out with Oval Scallop Punch and one in Black....sorry but the "Thanks" part will need to be hand cut out. Adhere on top of Oval Scallop punched image. Adhere adhesive pearls. Pop with dimensionals for tea cup front.
Card Base: (1) 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Rose Red CS run through the SU Exclusive Perfect Polka Dot embossing Folder. Cut a piece of tulle, adhere to card vase using mini glue dots.

You will need (1) Very Vanilla 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" CS top note negative. Stamp same image used on the tea cup. Pop with dimensionals
Adhere top note negative to card. Adhere tea cup to card front. Project is now complete.
Supplies:
  • Stamps: Perfect Punches, Vintage Vogue
  • CS: Rose Red, Very Vanilla
  • Ink: Rose Red, Black
  • Accys SU Exclusive Big Shot Very Vintage Embossing Folder, SU Exclusive Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot Tea Cup Die (non SU), SU Exclusive Top Note Die, Scallop Oval Punch, Dimensionals, Basic Pearls, Mini Glue Dots, Tulle (non SU)

Tea Cup Tag

I just happen to make this tea cup tag for my friend Gail - OK - she is going to see it on my blog and I haven't given it to her yet. I had cut an extra tea cup from the box I posted yesterday and decided to put it to a good cause. It is a double sided tea cup with chipboard in between the DSP. The finished size is 4-1/2" x 4-1/4". Hopefully, this would look good in her kitchen. I love how this turned out and hope she will like it, too.

Back of tea Cup:

Here's a close-up of the flower:

To make the flower: (it's not blue - it's my photo)
Punch (2) Old Olive leaves and trim off 3 sections as shown)

Punch (2) flowers in Lovely Lilac and a 3rd flower in Lavender Lace
Adhere the flowers on top of each other with Tombow adhesive. Place ribbon on with mini glue dots, then position the leaves. Lastly, place the flower on top and put the adhesive rhinestone as the finishing touch.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: none
  • CS: Cottage Wall DSP (retired), Old Olive, Lavender Lace, Lovely Lilac
  • Ink: none
  • Accy's: Big Shot Tea Cup die (non SU), Big Shot Naturally Serif Alphabet Die, 3 Flower Punch (retired), Rhinestone adhesive (non SU), 1/8" Lavender Satin Ribbon (non SU), Tombow adhesive.

Thank you for stopping by today.............more tea cup projects tom...........

A Tea Cup Gift

I made this gift for a really good friend who I paid a visit to this weekend. It did match her plastic gloves she had for her sink.............whew!!!! I always loved this Big Shot die when Sizzix came out with it and hoped SU would come out with a version............the waiting was over.....SU didn't come out with it so I went ahead to get it and I absolutely love it. It is simple to assemble and decoration possibilities are endless!!! I love the fact that a tag is also aprt of the die!!! Cool, eh? This is only my first tea cup so I can't wait to make more!!!!

Clear plastic bag removed - green tea bags are wrapped in the tissue

How to make this flower was previously posted on 7/15/2010 if you want to see the step by step. Sponge flower using Lavender Lace ink. Lightly curl the flower petals with a bone folder. Center of flower is die cut from the Blossom Party die and popped with a dimensional. Those "swirly" lavender springs? Those are cut and wrapped around a piercer and attached to the tea cup with Tombow adhesive.

Tag which also came with the die, hung using embroidery floss:

Top view: note the edges of the chipboard were inked with a Stampin' Writen pen

Las Vegas Faux Paper Bag Album

OK HERE IT IS - 95% finished. I cut the DSP going the wrong direction (DAH!!!) so I loosely taped the front cover layout together for this posting. I will be getting more paper and can easily finish the cover. The Las Vegas stickers are still on the clear acetate until the paper is recut. Instructions for this album can be found on my favorite artist: Laura Denison. Her blog site at http://www.followingthepapertrail.blogspot.com/ The style of this album is called "Faux Paper Bag Album". I did tweak how to assemble this album by adding extensions for the Bind-it-all wires and adjusted the cover length a bit to accommodate the extension and the poker chip tabs. Instructions on how to make the poker chips are in this posting. This album cover finished size is 8-1/2" x 5-1/2". 1" Black O-wires used. I just received my photos taken from my trip so I will be spending time to figure out how to place them in the album. I needed an album that would expand and accommodate all the memorabilia collected from the trip and this one was perfect!

Here's a closer view of the cover: That shiny Las Vegas sticker is one of my gifts from my blog frined: Gene I met there.

Pages 13, 14 (back inside cover):

I was so excited to be able to find a co-ordinating punch which matched the DSP!!!! How lucky!!!

And here are the Poker Chip tabs for more photos or journaling....two sets of these inserts were made for the bags.

Top view of the album:

Side view of the album - Black CS was wrapped around each faux paper bag:

This is the retired Jackpot DSP used for this album along with Real Red, Black, So Saffron, and Very Vanilla CS

To make the Poker chips:
(1) Trace 1-3/4" circle on CS
(4) 1/4" strips to position as shown
(1) 1-1/8" or 1" circle punch

Position 1/4" strips on traced 1-3/4" circle:

Punch chip inside the penciled circle lines, next punch a 1-1/8" circle, use a white gel pen to make the dash lines. Adhere on top of the chip.
Finished chips look like this:
SU Supplies

Asian Birthday Thank You Cards

Thank you all for visiting this week.....My Las Vegas album didn't come together as I had hoped. In fact. I had to rip it apart (scrapbooking surgery!) - that feels good!!! I was not happy with how to close the book and pages so back to the drawing board to figure it out........l also have been busy making "thank you" cards for the group this week. Here it is. I used a variety of different stamps, dies and paper to pull this together..........I call it my blended card...........because of the variety of companies used. I used to have this style of haircut when I was small when I couldn't give an opinion about how I wanted my hair to be cut...........bowl style! This card came just the way I wanted.

Here's a close-up of the girl: she has a adhesive gold rhinestone in the center of the flower in her hair.

Here's what I needed to make the cards: The background Asian Word stamp used black ink on Naturals Ivory. The Bright Gold paper is used to behind the background Asian Words. Another stamp company was used for the Asian style "thank you" which is embossed in black under the girl.

Copic marker colors used on the image along with Gold smooch dotted on the fans.

Here are all the girls in a row in my favorite colors:
Pop them with dimensionals and attach on to card front.
SU Supplies used:
  • CS: Real Red, Black, Naturals Ivory
  • Ink: Black, Versamark
  • Accys: Dimensionals, 2 Way Glue Pen, Black embossing powder

Thank you all for a wonderful week , celebrating with me...............it was really memorable! Have a great , weekend............I will have the album finished for Monday's posting.

Birthday Event - Part 4, Even More

Are you ready? Here are more fun gifts to share with everyone: this is a card from Gene, my bestest blog friend. I love the colors used for her card (my favoirte in red, black, and gold). The washi presents are "puffed" on the card although it may be difficult to see in the photo. I love the hint of embellishment on the backof the envelope - such details not to be missed.

I got an assortment of 12" x 12" Washi paper from Gene..........are you all jealous yet? They are so way cool in this special size!!!!

She also gave me an assortment of stickers (perfect for my scrapbook) welcoming me to Las Vegas.....yup, that's where I was for my birthday........she had a welcoming SUV Wagon which was air conditioned!!!! Thank you so much Gene for your generousity and hospitality to Las Vegas - it will be way worth visiting you again but this time we have to craft together!

Denise W. sent me this fabulous red/black/white card...............I love it!!! Thank you D for remembering!

An other fabulous card from Nellie who has the exact same b'day as me (the difference: she's much younger) - Thank you, Nellie for such a great card!!!!

Thank you for visiting today and allowing me to share my gifts with you. Stay tuned for my Las Vegas album tom................
